Speech Therapy/Audiology

Speech Therapy is the treatment of disorders of speech and language and swallowing. Speech Therapy improves ability to communicate as effectively as possible, and to swallow as safely as possible. Teresian House is one of the few facilities that is staffed by a full time Speech Language Pathologist (SLP). Goals may address:

Word-finding difficulties
Garbled speech
Poor breath support
Use of picture communication
Gestural Communication
Chewing and Swallowing

Our SLP also serves as Director of the Rehabilitation Department and oversees OT, PT and Audiology.

Audiology

Teresian House maintains a contract with St. Peter’s Hospital Audiology to provide in house services. These services are coordinated and scheduled through our Speech Therapy Department and include:

Audiometric and Tympanometric Evaluation
Hearing Aid Fittings
Hearing Aid Repair
